Tech4Change Winter Edition 2027 is a special winter edition of the Tech4Change project innovation contest, organised as a sister event of the 7th CINE Conference and inspired by the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Building on the success of Tech4Change 2027, the Winter Edition invites B.Tech students, student innovators, developers, and early-career researchers to turn meaningful ideas into practical technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges. This edition carries a distinctive challenge-driven spirit:
Winter is Coming — Are You Ready to Build the Future? Participants are encouraged to identify pressing problems across society, technology, sustainability, healthcare, education, governance, industry, and other domains, and develop innovative, scalable, and demonstrable prototypes that can create measurable impact.
🔥 What makes the Winter Edition different?
- Idea → Prototype → Impact
- Focus on working and demonstrable solutions, not just concepts
- Encourages AI/ML, IoT, Robotics, Software, Hardware, Data Science, and emerging technologies
- Emphasis on innovation, feasibility, scalability, and societal impact
- Open to interdisciplinary student teams
- A staged evaluation process, from concept note to prototype demonstration
WINTER IS COMING
The theme represents a challenge to innovators: anticipate tomorrow’s problems today and build solutions before the future arrives.
Participants can choose to work within any of the following frontier technology tracks:
Build solutions inspired by or applicable to space exploration, satellite systems, remote sensing, ground station communication, or space-based data services.
Sub-categories:
Design agents, bots, or multi-agent systems that can perceive, reason, plan, and act with minimal human intervention — targeting real-world or simulated environments.
Sub-categories:
Projects at the intersection of cutting-edge technologies with social, environmental, or industrial challenges.
Sub-categories:
💡 Student-Friendly Approach: All tracks are fully accessible using open-source tools, simulation platforms (e.g. Gazebo, AirSim, OpenMCT, Gymnasium), and low-cost hardware. Projects built entirely in simulation or on a shoestring budget are welcome and will be evaluated on their merit — though a small, working physical prototype will always be appreciated and may strengthen your evaluation. —
